Personality/Background:
Bruce is a complicated little pony. On one hand, he is passionate, driven, highly intelligent, witty, and a fun enough guy, on a good day. One the other hand...he's an asshole. He is a grumpy, impatient, prickly big ball of emotional constipation, and as a colt, he was a primary bully to kid Pandora. He was heavily neglected by his parents as a foal, which has made him reluctant to get close to others, and even hostile toward new ponies. But once the idiot gets over himself, he is loyal and fiercely protective of his loved ones and friends, even if it means half carrying a tipsy Magnolia May back to her home, or enduring yet another one of Rosemary's batches of foul health tonic.

Bruce was a runty, skinny colt and quickly situated himself at the top of the schoolyard hierarchy by becoming the school bully. His favorite target to taunt and harass was Pandora, the weird and rambunctious draconequus filly. Bruce headed a pack of fellow bullies growing up, and it was not until later, upon meeting Aerostorm (and thus making his first real friend) that he realized that he wasn't being the pony he wanted to be, and he changed for the better. He owns a female pet sea hawk named Pearlie, whom he raised from a chick he found on the beach as a colt. He secretly babies the crap out of his precious birdie

As an adult, Bruce is still a scowly bastard, but he ain't above enjoying a joke or two (mostly at other ponies' expense). His passion is studying and conserving all life in the ocean. Yep, Bruce grew up to be one of the nerds he used to make fun of in school, and the irony isn't lost on him

Relationships:
   Bruce has a poor relationship with both of his parents. His father threw him out when Bruce didn't want to stay on as a fisherpony in the family business anymore, and thus Bruce hasn't seen or talked to his parents in years. His mum misses him dearly.

    For all his bullying and rivalry with Pandora as a colt, the two ended up dating for a bit while they were teens. The relationship crashed and burned horribly, but they did have good days...intermixed with many bad ones...okay so yeah their relationship was like 99% belligerent sexual tension and insults but still. Currently, the two regard each other with mutual disdain. Bruce is also secretly quite afraid of Cupcake, who, as a filly, once shoved him into a locker to get him to stop picking on Pandora.

    Bruce's best friend is Aerostorm, son of Rainbow Dash. The two met when Stormy rescued Bruce's pet sea hawk Pearlie from a lightning storm, and they've been inseparable since. Bruce finds Stormy's sweet, hippie-dippie ways to be completely adorable exasperating, but he can't deny that he's got a soft spot for the pegasus. He is curiously possessive of Stormy.

    Bruce is good friends with Rosemary, though he can find her attempts to "cleanse his aura" a little annoying at times. He is close friends with Magnolia May, and enjoys her company and sense of humor. He cannot fucking stand Zipperflash, Stormy's rival and secret admirer.

Special:
-Bruce is from Oatstralia (Equestrian Australia), and this is reflected in his accent and euphemisms. Due to the harsh environment there, ponies from the Oatsback tend to be more omnivorous that the typical Equestrian pony, which is why Bruce's family catches, sells, and regularly consumes fish. Bruce sees nothing wrong with eating fish...Stormy once fainted when he happened upon a bloody Bruce filleting a large trout. Bruce has pretty pointy canines, which help in eating meat

-Bruce got his scars from attempting to rescue a hooked thresher shark as a colt. He managed to free the giant, thrashing fish, and this is also how he got his cutie mark.

-Magnolia is aware of Bruce's feelings for Stormy and calls him on it all the time. Bruce once tried to ask her out, to prove he wasn't as hopelessly gay for slightly infatuated with Stormy as she thought...Magnolia was less than impressed.

-Bruce is pretty short for a stallion, standing about as tall as the average mare. Pandora and Zipperflash both like to tease him about this. Stormy thinks Bruce is perfect the way he is, but isn't above the odd bit of teasing.
