"Yo, Auntie Shy!" Chakra Blossom called, stepping boldly into his aunt's cozy little cottage. "You home? I have a couple of questions. You, uh, know anything about bat ponies....?"

"Chakra?" Fluttershy suddenly came around the corner, looking quite surprised to find her nephew standing in her home. ".....Oh, dear. Pardon me, but, um...how did you get in here?"

"You still leave the key under the welcome mat. Maybe not the best home security tactic." Chakra chuckled. He caught her in a fond wing embrace, pulling her close. "Why, what's up? Not happy to see me? I'm hurt, Auntie Flutters, truly wounded."

"Oh no, I'm always happy to see you, sweetheart." Fluttershy smiled, and eagerly reciprocated his hug. Chakra felt his face heat at the warm affection, and he felt that niggling loneliness at the back of his mind, where he had so badly missed his aunt, her cottage full of animals, Uncle Bulk Biceps....and even his snooping cousin Rosemary. He missed having something that resembled a home. For a lone, rare moment, Chakra relaxed, and leaned down to press a kiss to his aunt's cheek. "Maybe I'll, uh, come visit more often, then."

"More than twice a year would be nice." Fluttershy sighed. She spared a quick glance down the hallway, then spoke in a hushed, worried tone. "Just, um....not right now, okay? You should leave and come back tomorrow for breakfast-Bulky's making blueberry pancakes-"

"Wait, you're not trying to get rid of me, are you?" Chakra's brows knit, now actually hurt. He scowled. "What, does Rosemary desperately need your help brewing more of her nasty health tonic teas? What does she need that's so much more important than m-"

"Chakra." Fluttershy interrupted her nephew's jealous tirade, placing a gentle hoof on his shoulder. "Listen to me, honey. Your mother is he-."

A voice-an awful, familiar, drawling voice-suddenly gasped behind the pair. "Blossom?"

Chakra bit back a swear-he'd vowed to watch his language around Auntie Shy. Instead, he drew a deep breath, forced a smile, and turned to greet the newcomer.

"Well, well. Spiritual salutations to you, Ma."

"Oh, Blossom. My sweet little baby Blossom." Treehugger lilted, offering up a tranquil, lopsided smile. "How wondrous of the universe to return my only son, to place my little blossom back into the loving light of his mama, to grow and flourish." She blinked unevenly, then giggled at a joke known only to herself. "I still remember the day you were born, y'know, I was just telling Fluttershy all about it. So soon after your father and I lay entwined in the way of cosmic bliss, I gave birth in a meadow to a tiny green foal-only at the time he wasn't so green, because he was covered in blood and fluids-"

"Haha, oh, Ma." Chakra laughed, but it was mocking, devoid of real humor. "You always had a penchant for telling the worst stories. Why don't you go off somewhere and meditate, hm? Don't you have some dream diaries to write?"

"Oh, you haven't changed a bit." Treehugger smiled serenely, and extended her arms. "Come to me, cosmic child. You've strayed so far away, but now the universe has sent you back to me, your point of spiritual origin. Come here, my baby. Back to mama's loving bosom."

Hell no. Chakra took a step back, wondering if it'd be rude to simply bolt from Fluttershy's house. He smiled wider. "I'd really rather not-"

"If you won't come to me, then I'll come to you." Treehugger advanced, and before Chakra could flee, she wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug. "Mmm, see? Feel the love and be cleansed, my son."

"Ma." Chakra did not like to be touched, not without permission, and especially not by his mother, who currently smelled of grass and wet dog and enough incense to choke a cow. "Let go, please-" He struggled in her hold. "Ma, stop-" Treehugger, sensing his discomfort, did her best to rock him soothingly, and began her strange, sonic therapy whinnying sounds, attempting to comfort his frenzied aura-

"Shh, be calm, bliss out, sweet child-"

"Get-" Chakra managed to get his hooves against her, and he shoved her away, "-Off!" Fluttershy touched his shoulder, and her eyes were pleading-but Chakra had had enough. He advanced on his mother, scowling down at her. "This right here? This is exactly why I left. You're goddamned delusional, Treehugger. You don't care a lick about me, or what I want-all you care about is the freedom to spout your stupid hippie crap. How many times did you leave me home alone-for days-just so you could go off on one of your stupid peace retreats and frolic in the woods? Hell, Auntie Shy's probably the reason I didn't starve to death, or got an actual bath every once in a while-"

"Chakra, sweetie-" Fluttershy tried to interject-

"You remember, don't you, Shy? When I was a colt-you even said it yourself-the worst flea problem you'd ever seen-"

Fluttershy did remember. Bathing and cooing over an itching, blubbering little colt, rubbing salve over bitten skin, bundling him up in a hug and reluctantly agreeing to his desperate plea not to tell anypony....but still, she bit her lip with resolve, and spoke sternly. "Dear, she's your mother."

"Oh, right." Chakra rolled his eyes, then fired a withering glare at Treehugger. "How long did it even take you to notice I left, Mother Dear?"

Treehugger paused, thoughtful. "Um, about four minutes, I think. You see, Chakra, I like, made you. In my womb. Although your umbilical cord is long gone, there's still a deep, spiritual connection linking you to me-a metaphorical, magical umbilical cord-"

"Oh my god I take it back, stop talking-

"So I sensed it right away when you left. I knew you flew away because your chakras were out of whack, and I wanted to help you, but....I dunno, I could sense that....you didn't want me to follow you." A shadow of some unknown emotion flickered across Treehugger's face. "So I drew spirit circles everyday and sent you blissful vibes, so that you could maybe..." Her tranquil drawl was fading. "Uh, feel how much I missed you."

Chakra blinked at her. "You missed me."

"Well, yeah, little dude, why wouldn't I? You're my baby." Treehugger smiled at him. "And I love you, Chakra."

Chakra's face grew dark. "....Liar."

Treehugger let out a quiet, dull gasp, and Fluttershy swiftly turned on her nephew, glaring. "Chakra Blossom-" She reprimanded sharply-

"Oh, what?" Chakra snapped. "I'm supposed to drop everything and fly into her arms because she said she loves me? It's a lie. If that were true-she would have been there for me, she would have been an actual, good mother. She would have at least tried. But she didn't, because for all her talk about love and harmony-I was still an unplanned little roadblock in her freedom, and she did her best to carry on with her hippie-dippie life as though I barely even existed." Chakra felt boiling, angry tears well in his eyes, and he let them fall, well past caring about holding back. "She doesn't care. She doesn't love me. She didn't miss me. It's all lies, Auntie Shy-and you and I both know it."

"Chakra." Treehugger's voice was now devoid of its normal dreamy quality, and she only sounded tired, and strangely sad. She reached out to him feebly. "...Sweetheart. Please, I'm telling the truth-"

Chakra ignored her, and turned to go. "As far as I'm concerned, you were a better mom to me than she ever was, Aunt Shy." He stopped, taking a moment to wipe carefully at his face, feigning indifference, even though his voice was quaking with emotion. "So...t-thank you for that. See you around, I guess."

Both mares called after him, but Chakra opened the heavy open door to the cottage, and simply took off, in a whirl of green feathers.

A heavy, painful silence followed.

"Fluttershy?" Treehugger said calmly, staring at the faded oak door. "If it's okay with you, I was wondering if I could, um, sit here, and maybe, like, cry for a bit?" Although she was still smiling that peaceful smile, tears had begun leaking down her cheeks. "I'm feeling like I kinda maybe blew it, so I have some, um, negative c-chakras I'd like to, uh, clear out...."

"Oh, Treezy." Fluttershy enveloped her friend in a hug, and let her cry in her arms, wishing she could fix this, wishing today had never happened. "I'm sorry."

some info from Chakra's bio for context:

Treehugger and Zephyr Breeze never married, and Chakra was entirely unplanned. Treehugger birthed him naturally out in a flower field, and kinda just showed up on Zeph's doorstop like "hey lookit this foal I made lol". Because of the on again/off again nature of Treehugger and Zephyr's relationship, Chakra mostly lived with his mom growing up, with weekend visits from dad sometimes.

The two of them were...pretty bad parents, with Treehugger being loving but wildly irresponsible (sometimes leaving kid Chakra home alone to go on various hippie retreats) and Zeph often feeling like parenting was "cramping his style". So Chakra was often neglected, and grew up to resent both his parents. As an adult he simply avoids Zephyr Breeze (Zeph is a little hurt by this but tries not to show it), while Treehugger...Chakra finds his mother incredibly annoying, with her constant, stupid hippie talk that she genuinely believes in. He can only tolerate her in small doses before the cracks begin to show in his "peaceful, unbothered hippie" facade, and he has to work very hard to control his temper and keep smiling while she coos over her sweet little "Blossom".

This would be exactly why I don't hate Chakra. Veeeery bad parents. Glad TreeHugger was loving and Zephyr....ugh yeah no. I don't like Zephyr and I never have. Literally one of my least favorite ponies besides Cozy Glow...
